The weather behaved itself and I survived the weather at the most beautiful venue I have ever been to for a wedding!
The wedding took place at Zingela Lodge and although communication with the venue took many days for responses, my cousin's incredibly efficient bride's maids and her older sister monitored and coordinated the wedding which progressed seamlessly.
When I say 'middle of nowhere', I'm referring to a venue that is 26km out of Weenen, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive.
You HAVE TO be in a 4x4 with very high clearance. The road will make any outdoors enthusiast happy! We discussed and decided that it would possibly be quicker to cycle the entire road on a mountain bike as you'd probably get there quicker.

Next one on the list was how they seated everyone. The couple forewent the tradition of the bridle party and their parents sitting at the main table. Instead, the couple sat at the main table with their best friends - the parents and grandparents sat at their own table with the cousins and the aunts/uncles just on the other side.
It was a lovely getaway and I cannot wait to go white water rafting - met a guy who was helping out lift everyone to and from the venue, who has the company Itchy Feet SA who has his own company and offers a full day on the water as well as guided walks and hikes in the berg.
If interested, you can find a link on his Facebook page, Itchy Feet SA.
Have a great week!
